Vacation: Part 1- Washington D.C.

We have had an extremely busy beginning of the summer.   We began our vacation by flying to Washington D.C. with our best friends and their family!  Once checked into the Loews Madison Hotel we were NON STOP!  Here are  MOST  of the things we did!

- a Capitol Building tour given by our congressmen
- visiting the theatre and the house where Abraham Lincoln
  died
- seeing the American Art Museum
- the White House Visitor Center/ White House
- National Archives
- National Gallery of Art
- Old Post Office Pavilion
- State Department Tour
- Supreme Court
- Library of Congress Tour
- Air and Space Museum
- Bureau of Engraving and Printing Tour
- National Museum of American/Natural History
- Arlington National Cemetery
- ALL the Monuments
- eating at Union Station
- going on a cruise down the Potomac to take us to Mount
  Vernon

We must have walked miles upon miles each day!  I am glad we were able to do as much as we did!  Now we don't have to go back again!  It was a nice part of our vacation being able to see and learn all that we did.  However, I am ready for the next part of our vacation to begin!
