Quick Update

Hi everyone- just wanted to post a quick update.  Emma is doing really well!  She seems to truly enjoy being at school and playing with her new friends and toys!  Now when I drop her off, she goes right to the teacher and then turns to me and says "BYE" as she waves to me!  It just breaks my heart but I know she must be enjoying herself if she is not crying anymore!  I am still receiving pictures everyday- which I truly love looking at!  Here are some pictures of Emma I took this month.  I can't believe how long her hair is getting!

2nd Day of Preschool

Just wanted to follow up on how Emma did today at school.  As we pulled into the parking lot she kind of went AHHH- but not a happy ahhh!  I quickly got her out of the car and headed into the school building.  I went into her classroom where one of her teachers immediately called out Emma's name with a HUGE smile!  I handed Emma over to her and of course she once again cried.  We quickly said our goodbyes and left the classroom.  In the office, I looked at the cameras to see how she was doing.  The director went into her classroom to get something and told me that Emma had already stopped crying!   Wow- only 1 minute of tears!  I was one happy mommy!  When we came to pick her up, the director cracked open the door to her class for us to take a peek... Emma was sitting on the floor next to her teacher holding a musical instrument.  She seemed very content!  The teachers began putting out the kids beds for nap time.   Emma rushed onto one(it wasn't even hers) and began laying down on it- I just couldn't believe it!  I guess next week I will give nap time a try! Once we went in, the teacher began to tell me how well Emma did today.  They also told me how great she did with her eating-  a waffle for breakfast and chicken nuggets and corn for lunch!  Yummy!  So far so good!  I think she likes this "school" thing!  Here are the pictures the school sent me today:

                                                     Oohh- these waffles are great!

                                               Playing with Mr. Potato Head!

                                                       Music time!  How cute!

Preschool

Yesterday was Emma's first day of preschool!  I dressed her in her "school" uniform and took some pictures.  Once we arrived at the shcool, everyone welcomed us.  Her teachers were "ready" for her.  Her name was on her project folder and cubby!  As we looked around her class for a couple of minutes I knew it was time to hand her over to her teacher.  Of course she didn't want to go!  I told her mommy was coming back in just a little while and then left.  I watched her via cameras that are in every room from the office.  She was crying- and then her teacher got out Emma's little white towel- which I am sure eventually helped.  I left the school to bring my boys to camp and called Emma's school about 30 minutes later.  They told me she was doing great!  No more crying!  Yeah!  About an hour later I received two pictures of her sitting in a chair with a doll looking at a book!  Yes- the school will send pictures of your child during each and every day just to let you see what they are doing- love that!!!  Just before 12 which is around nap time I picked her up.  I walked into her room and she was sitting on the floor next to her teacher with some other kids playing with a toy.  A minute later she noticed me and came right over with the toy to show me.  That was it- her first day went great!  The director also told me that Emma ate really well at lunch time- picadillo, rice, yuca, and a roll!  Once we were home and Emma was napping I received another email with three more pictures of her- two of the pictures she was playing with a toy and the other she was eating!  Too cute!  Wow!  Can't wait to see how it goes today!

Here is Emma just before we left to go to school!

Looking at a book with the doll in her lap!

Yesterday we spent the day swimming in Boca Raton at my dads house.  Everyone had such a good time playing in the pool and eating fruit!  Here are some of the pictures of our fun day with grandpa and Marci!
